Marcel's Meows: Winter Prep
No more dried meat, please
Greetings my feline followers,
Today’s lecture… uh, topic is about winter preparation. As much as I love autumn it means we must prepare for winter. As we live in a costal town, winter storms are frequent and our enemy. Those ships that venture forth can be lost with all hands and cargo. Therefore we must shelter in place. After the harvest festival, the big commercial food dryers are available for rent. Everyone is buying and drying surplus vegetables and meat. Flour, sugar, spices and other essentials are purchased and stored. Our self imposed isolation will commence soon. On the good days, we do venture out in to the town to see what everyone is up to.
While all this is well and good, by the time what passes for spring around here, I never want to see any more dried meat. I’ve even resorted to hunting mice just to have fresh meat. Not my favorite but one must make do in dire situations.
Paws and hisses for now. Until next time.
Marcel
